What to Wear to the Races

Racing season is here (queue the horse related puns).

The fascinators are out in force and so is the pressure to put your best foot forward.  After all, most of us keep one eye on the horses, the other fixed firmly on the fashion.

With Ladies' Days up and down the country capturing our attention (and our wallets), race ready occasionwear is the only thing on our minds.

We don’t fall for passing trends, breaking the bank for one day? No thanks. We prefer to stand apart from the crowd with carefully crafted, classic designs that elevate the everyday and stand the test of time.

STILL, SACRIFICING STYLE? NEVER

Race ready dress codes can be daunting. If formal wear wasn’t intimidating enough, the rules vary from event to event. It’s enough to tie any stomach in knots.

Want to start off on the right foot? Do your homework. Will you need a hat? Is sleeveless out of the question? Can you keep it casual?

We’re always happy to dress for the occasion, but buying something to ‘fit in’ with the crowd that doesn’t feel like us? Count us out.

Our Race Ready edit of elegant footwear is certain to crack the dress codes for every event and set the pace at every race. Whatever you’re looking for, we’ve got you covered.

WHAT TO WEAR AT THE RACES  FOR WOMEN

If you want a heel that won’t sacrifice comfort, wedges always rise to the occasion. They’ll distribute your weight evenly, they’re grass-friendly, and with our vibrant selection of shades, they’ll inject personality into any outfit.

Wedges are true chameleons, adding a playful edge to everything from mid length flowing skirts and summer tea-dresses, to tailored trousers and jumpsuits.

Want footwear that pulls focus?

Pack a punch with a metallic espadrille wedge sandal for all-day comfort. Coordinate with matching accessories and by night? You’ll dazzle.

We’re besotted with block heels. A pastel palette will put a spring in your step and intricate strap detailing is the perfect adornment for any occasionwear. Paired with a bold, midi skirt or dress? You’re the mane event.

Endlessly comfortable, minimalist heeled mules prove you don’t have to shout to be heard. We’ll bet on timeless, chic design and true comfort Every. Single. Time.

A muted heel leaves more room to experiment. Play around with colour, embellished detailing, and prints. A floral dress is a classic for a reason. Perfect not only for the races, but the whole summer season.

Stylish and Sustainable? We’re sold.

Why swim around in a sea of dresses when you can wear a suit?  A far cry from its humble office-wear origins, a well-tailored trouser suit has earnt its spot as a wardrobe must-have. Be bold and choose a zesty bright colour palette to compliment muted heels and watch the crowds part. Chic, timeless and a guaranteed confidence boost? We’ve found our new staple.

WHAT TO WEAR TO THE RACES FOR MEN

We've gone brogue

We’ll raise our glasses to men’s footwear that’s so good, it’ll stirrup the crowd.

Our first pick is always premium quality leather and timeless brogue detailing (if it ain’t brogue, don’t fix it).

A well-fitting, tailored suit will always turn heads. Feeling bold? Embrace patterns and texture. Whether you favour a houndstooth, herringbone or classic check, a patterned suit will always stand out.

With the right footwear? You’re off to the races.

Quality craftmanship is always worth the investment. The one thing all race days have in common? Wherever you go, you’ll be on your feet all day. Comfortable footwear is a must.

A tailored suit will never steer you wrong, but if it’s hot? We want lightweight, breathable fabrics. From classic neutrals to bold bright hues, linen or cotton will stop you from breaking a sweat (and the dress code).

Take to the stands with a classic desert boot, crafted from premium leather suede. Versatility? Our derby shoes effortlessly transition from day to night, taking centre stage everywhere from the office to outdoor drinks.
